Welcome welcome Sabbath morning

I was supposed to put this up on Sunday, but comes now instead.
The week was pretty good. I had my test (or exam) on Wednesday. It started very well, but got harder and harder. I think it was because I practiced most on the first teachers part and not as much on the others. The questions that came up on the feminism part were parts that didn' t stuck in my head. I have to wait to 13 april until I can see the result. It feels that I will barely make it.
The rest of the week has been pretty calm. Watched "raven" floorball Thursday evening. Korpen as it is called in Sweden. Basically organized recreational sport competition. Most of the team members are LDS members. The biggest reasons why I went to watch. They met the series leader and lost. 4-6.
I haven't done any running since Monday, but played instead floorball Friday evening. It was the last time for the season. I have at least done been sporting twice this week.
Sunday is always a great day. A day where I get a spiritual boost and can recharge my spiritual batteries. We had a fire emergency practice today as well. The sacrament meeting was very good. Three speakers. One of the speakers was called as second councilor of the bishopric.
One speaker had The pearl of great price as a theme. Talked about pearls and how they are made. The last speaker was the first councilor of the bishopric. That was a really good talk. He talked about patience. I should write down what the speakers say because I quickly forget what have been said. Should get a notebook as a thought book.
I suppose that most of the ones who read my blog are also members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. But if there are any "non-member" readers some terms can probably be unfamiliar. The church is more common as the Mormon church. I have been a member my whole life and will be. I really love the church. It is like a big family.www.mormon.se and www.jesukristikyrka.se are two good church websites in Swedish.www.mormon.org and www.lds.org for the English speaking folks.
Like a friend of mine say when someone ask him about the church:
Come and see for yourself.

A spiritual and a physical feast

Unfortunately I didn't do much this weekend. The exam has been in my mind and still is. It is after Wednesday that I can relax.
We had my oldest brother with his son over Friday to Saturday. My nephew really likes to go up and down on the stairs. He can crawl up without any problem, but need a hand to go down.
I went next day to the chapel in Kungsbacka for a baptism. A young adult got baptized. It was great and you could feel the spirit strong.
Church was as usual on Sunday. Charity and the New Testament. The sacrament meeting was good as well. I don't remember much from the talks though.
I watched the fireside with Elder L. Tom Perry. We Were the Greatest Generation. He mentioned 4 things we could do to bring others "back to us". Daily prayer, daily scripture study, temple worthiness and daily acts of service. Four very fundamental principles.

Today I was in Göteborg the whole day. A question time and information about the exam. Spent some time in the institute centre.
Around 4 o´clock I headed to Skatås and ran in hills. Hill interval training. We jogged for about 12 minutes and ran 6 times up for a ca 70 meter long hill. The last bit was very steep. We should ran fast when we ran up. 12 minutes running back. When we were done I took a shower and sat in the sauna for a while. It was very nice and I felt clean afterwards.
It was nice to get some variation. Usually I run 10 km.

Tomorrow I will plugg for the tent....or study for the exam. :)

5 min/km

The third time I was out and ran. This time I ran about 5 km back and forth, so a little bit over a Swedish mile (10 km). I had a tempo at 5 min/km, the best average speed so far. The time was 53min. 1h 45min if I would hold that tempo in Göteborgsvarvet. About 4,5min/km was my average speed when I got my best time in Göteborgsvarvet so far.
I have a bit to get there. The whole April is left and half of May.
I'm still sore in the lower part of my calf after the run.

It has been a relaxing day. Saw AIK eliminated HV71 in the ice hockey playoff. Four straight games.

I will have my last seminar before my first exam tomorrow. It's about politics, power and gender. A lot of focus on gender and feminism. Not my favorite subject to be honest. I'm for gender equality, but sometimes I feel the debate goes far long. The wage shouldn't differ because of gender. Only after experience and competence.
Well, well...

It will be a long day in Göteborg tomorrow. Seminar, reading and institute. Will be nice. :p

A very good weekend

After a lecture on Thursday and lots of reading on Friday I headed to Tingsbergshallen and played Floorball (Innebandy in Swedish) in the evening. We were nine who came, so two teams with five and four players. I played well and scored at least 3 times the first 30 minutes, but I am more a long distance runner and don't have much explosive energy, so my energy supply was pretty empty the last half and I did less rushes, but it was nice to move the body.

I got more on Saturday morning when I drove to Skatås, east of Göteborg. The plan was to run with Solvikingarna (The Sunvikings) a "long slow distance" pass (I don't know if you can say pass. Beat is another word the dictionary suggested.) It happened to be a Göteborgsvarslångpass that Solvikingarna held together with Göteborgsvarvet (the 21 km race I will run in May).
We were 60-70 people there. You chose a group that fitted your tempo. They had three groups. One that held a 5 min/km tempo, the other 5,5 min/km and 6 min/km the last group. I chose 5,5 min/km group. After we had chosen a group we ran for about an hour. We ran 13 km and I stopped my stopwatch at 1hr, 11min and 21sek. I didn't have much strength left in my legs and had hard to even do a short rush.
The ground was icy and wet. It got better when we got asphalt under our feet.
They served energy drink, banana and Kexchocklad (chocolate wafer) when we came back to the centre.

I did a stop at McDonald's on my way home. Frölundamålet for lunch. One BigMac and Cheeseburger and a middle drink and fries. It tasted well. :P

The day finished with Melodifestivalen (the music competition who decide who will represent Sweden in Eurovision Song Contest in Germany) with some friends.
It will be interesting to see how Erik Saade will do in Düsseldorf.

From cold to a cold

I was sore in two days after the running.
It was a good weekend that started with Xbox gaming and fixing on a camper (husbil), which followed by eating "Semla" at the Institute Centre and socialize with other young single adults in the Göteborg area.

Saturday was a cleaning and relaxing day. The highlight was Luleå - Frölunda in the evening. The last round in the Swedish ice hockey league. I bought the game and watched it on the computer. The quality of the stream was very good and went very smoothly. 1-0 to Frölunda Indians that missed the play off, but avoided relegation qualification.

It was church meetings on Sunday as usual. Two lessons, elders quorum and Sunday school.
The sacrament meeting was a testimony meeting. There were more gaps then the last two.
My oldest brother came in the evening with his family. We ate lasagne together.
I got a cold during Sunday. My throat was sore and my nose was like a broken tap. I didn't get any fever, luckily.

I was going to run with the running club, that I'm planning to join this month, today, but I have stayed inside the whole day because of the cold. I will do that on Saturday instead.
C-vitamin and garlic have been consumed.

Premiere X2!

I am the second from the left

With some inspiration I decided to start a blog as well.

The main focus will be on running, which is my favorite hobby, but also other stuff and thoughts will sometimes be written.
I will run Göteborgsvarvet this year. It will be my sixth time. Göteborgsvarvet is a half-marathon (21 Km) which goes every year in May. My goal is to run under 1h 30min. 1h 33min is my personal record.
I started the training today to run Lunnarundan. It is a round that is about 9 km long with mixed base.
48min 34sek. Not bad to be the first time for the year. 45 minutes next time and later I will attack 40 minutes.

Run o`hoy!

PS!
Kimbia means running in Swahili.
